ADLINK PXES-2780 18 Slot PXI Chassis
The PXES-2780 from ADLINK is a PXI Express chassis designed for test and measurement applications that require enhanced bandwidth. It can also be found under the model name variation PXES-2780(G). This chassis is equipped with 18 slots, which are configured into a single system slot, 10 hybrid peripheral slots, and 6 PXIe peripheral slots. Featuring automatic fan speed control, the chassis has three sets of cooling fans that run at 185.9 CFM. As a result, the cooling capacity is 38.2 W per slot. There is support for up to 8 GB/s of system bandwidth, while dedicated slots have up to 4 GB/s of peripheral bandwidth.
This versatile chassis includes a wide range of intelligent features, including remote power control and monitoring/reporting for system statuses. The front panel of the PXES-2780 features LED indicators that display the status for the power, temperature, and fans of the device. The amber-colored temperature LED will blink if at least one of the sensors exceed the default temp threshold. The fan LED indicator is green, remaining on when operations are normal and blinking if at least one of the fans falls below the default threshold speed of 800RPM. Finally, the blue power status LED monitors the DC power supply, remaining on if all is normal and blinking if any power rails exceed their threshold settings.
The rear panel of the PXI chassis is equipped with two BNC connectors for the 10 MHz reference clock. One connector is designated for output, and the other for input. The I/O connectors offer seamless connection and synchronization capabilities with supplementary devices. An external 10 MHz clock will override the one on the backplane.
The physical dimensions of the PXES-2780 measure 18.1 in. x 7.46 in. x 18.14 in. (464.3 mm x 191.4 mm x 465.3 mm) and it has a weight of 26.2 lb. (11.9 kg). When operational, the chassis should be in environmental conditions with an ambient temperature range of 0°C to 55°C and a non-condensing relative humidity spanning from 10% to 90%. When not in use, the temperature range for a storage environment can span from -20°C to 70°C with the same non-condensing relative humidity of 10% to 90%.
