ADLINK PXI-3950-0040 3U PXI Embedded Controller
The PXI-3950-0040 from ADLINK is a 3U PXI embedded controller for test system integration and industrial automation. It is equipped with an Intel processor with a speed of 2.2 GHz. It provides PXI-based testing platforms with reliable and effective computing performance. This controller offers flexible connectivity, dependable data throughput, and powerful processing capability. The Intel® GME965 chipset and the Intel® ICH8-M I/O controller hub are included into the PXI-3950-0040. Up to 4 GB of dual-channel DDR2 SDRAM running at 667 MHz are supported. Strong multitasking performance and reliable responsiveness under constant industrial workloads are provided by this setup.
Numerous I/O options are available for peripheral connections and instrument interactions with the controller. It has 2 GB Ethernet connections for LXI instrument control and fast data transfer. Four USB 2.0 ports are provided on the front panel for external devices and its two serial ports supporting RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 standards. The embedded IEEE488 GPIB controller allows direct instrument control without requiring an additional interface card.
This PXI-3950-0040 controller also offers a DVI-I connector for digital and analog video output. Its integrated Intel® GMA X3100 graphics media accelerator supports resolutions up to 1600 × 1200 at 60 Hz. It includes high-definition audio input and output jacks for system monitoring applications. Through the bus of the PXI trigger, external triggering and synchronization are made possible by the trigger I/O connector of the faceplate.
For storage, the PXI controller includes a 320 GB hard-drive to provide ample space for data logging and software storage. It also features a Type II CompactFlash® socket supporting PIO and DMA modes. The embedded watchdog timer ensures system reliability during unattended operations by automatically resetting the system under fault conditions.
The PXI-3950-0040 controller has a compact and durable design measuring 60.5 mm × 128.7 mm × 213.2 mm (2.38 in × 5.07 in × 8.39 in). It fits one system slot and two controller expansion slots within PXI chassis configurations. This controller operates in temperatures ranging from 0 °C to 50 °C and withstands vibrations up to 0.21 Grms during operation. It complies with PXI specification Rev. 2.2 and meets CE and FCC Class A standards. The PXI-3950-0040 controller supports Windows 7 32-bit operating systems.
