ADLINK PXI-3910-0050 3U PXI Embedded Controller
ADLINK’s PXI-3910-0050 PXI embedded controller was developed to provide a powerful, yet compact computing solution that could be easily integrated into hybrid PXI test systems. Built around a 1.0 GHz Intel Celeron M 373 processor, this PXI embedded controller is designed to handle a variety of test and measurement applications. Because of its emphasis on reliability in harsh environments, this PXI embedded controller is well-suited to use in industrial automation and data acquisition applications where reliability and consistency of operation are paramount.
The PXI embedded controller is equipped with 512 MB of soldered DDR2 memory and has a single SO-DIMM slot available for additional memory expansion. In addition, there is a 160GB SATA hard drive onboard for large capacity storage needs. There is also a Compact Flash (CF) socket available for users who need to add additional non-volatile storage options to their setup.
The PXI-3910-0050 has a full complement of instrument control interfaces that make it ideal for system integration applications. The PXI embedded controller has two Gigabit Ethernet connections: one for standard LAN communication and one for controlling LXI-compliant instruments. The PXI embedded controller has four USB 2.0 connections, two programmable RS-232/422/485 serial connections and an integrated GPIB controller via a Micro-D connection. The PXI embedded controller also has a DVI-I display output connection that can support either digital or analog displays and has both audio inputs and outputs as well as a dedicated PXI Trigger I/O connector for PXI Trigger Bus communications. These many I/O connections allow the PXI-3910-0050 to function as the master controller for very complex systems, allowing for seamless communication between PXI modules and standalone instruments.
Designed to operate in extreme environmental conditions, the PXI-3910-0050 PXI embedded controller has a rugged mechanical design. The CPU and memory on the board are connected to the PCB using solder to improve the resistance to shock and vibration. The PXI embedded controller can operate over a temperature range of 0 to 55°C and will continue to perform under severe mechanical stress conditions, such as those encountered on the shop floor or in mobile test vehicles.
